There’s a reason viral Hepatitis has been Dubbed the ” SILENT KILLER”.

Hep B can be either acute or chronic. In chronic stage, the liver disease can progress and cause Cirrhosis. Some patients with Cirrhosis develop Liver Cancer too. Many people with Chronic Hepatitis B Virus infection do not know they are infected since they don’t feel or look sick. Together Hepatitis B and C cause approximately 80 percent of all liver Cancer deaths and kill close to 1.4 million people every year more than either HIV or Tuberculosis.

ADVANCES IN HEPATITIS TREATMENT.
Recently developed medicines can cure most people with Hepatitis C and can control Hepatitis B infection. People who receive these medicines are much less likely to transmit the virus to others.
” By applying the tools already in hand to expand access to lifesaving measures, we can dramatically reduce the burden from this disease.” Said Dr Gottfried Hirnschall Director Global Hepatitis Programme.
Lets work together towards the elimination of both Hepatitis B and C.
